Sam and Jake’s Intimate Wedding Day at a Whidbey Island Wedding Venue

I’m beyond excited to share the magical day of Sam and Jake’s wedding at the beautiful Whidbey Island wedding venue, Crocket Farm! This day was all about love, intentional moments, and laid-back vibes, making it a perfect celebration of these two wonderful souls. Whidbey Island has always been one of my favorite places to shoot, and their wedding truly captured its essence!

The Perfect Day at a Whidbey Island Wedding Venue

Sam and Jake wanted their wedding day to reflect who they are as a couple, fun, loving, and surrounded by their favorite people. The whole day took place on Whidbey Island, WA, and let me tell you, it was stunning!! We started the day with their first look at Fort Ebey State Park.  The excitement and love in the air were SO evident as Sam and Jake saw each other for the first time! Fort Ebey provided such a breathtaking backdrop with its lush greenery and serene atmosphere.

Their venue, Crocket Farm, is one of the most beautiful Whidbey Island wedding venues. It offers a rustic charm and scenic views that are simply unbeatable! The weather on Sam and Jake’s intimate wedding day was perfect, sunny with a gentle breeze. (Yes, some of us got a bit sunburnt, but it was totally worth it! 😂)

Working with Sam and Jake

From the moment Sam and Jake booked me, I knew their wedding would be special. We met for coffee to discuss their plans, and we ended up chatting for hours! They’re such fun, active, and loving people, with the sweetest friend groups. They made the whole process so easy and enjoyable. Sam even surprised me with her favorite Olipops because she knew I’d been wanting to try them, how thoughtful is that?!

Their couples’ portraits were a dream to capture. They were so comfortable and natural in front of the camera. Their chemistry was undeniable, and their flirty, flowing poses made for some of the most beautiful shots! They even slipped away during the reception to have a private moment alone. I found them standing in their ceremony spot, looking out at the view. It was such a genuine, intimate moment that I couldn’t resist capturing.

Capturing the Candid Emotions

One of the most memorable parts of the day was when I spotted Sam and Jake standing alone. Without saying a word, I quietly observed them and took portraits that showcased their natural connection. They cuddled together, and I stepped back with my zoom lens to give them space. Sometimes, it’s best to let couples have their moments without any interruptions. Sam was so overwhelmed with happiness that she cried, seeing her emotions was such a beautiful sight to witness (Making me tear up a bit too 😭).
