Planning your dream garden wedding? Look no further than a Deepwood Museum and Gardens wedding in Salem, Oregon! As a Seattle wedding photographer who absolutely loves to travel, I was beyond thrilled when Angie and Blake invited me to capture their special day at this stunning venue! Not only did I get to explore a new location, but I also had the chance to shoot film, which added an extra layer of timeless beauty to their wedding photos. Let me tell you, I was over the moon with how the film turned out from this wedding day!

Why Choose Deepwood Museum and Gardens for Your Salem Oregon Wedding

First off, can we talk about how magical a Deepwood Museum and Gardens wedding is? This venue is a hidden gem in the heart of Salem, Oregon. The moment I arrived, I felt like I’d stepped into a secret garden straight out of a fairytale! The Victorian-era house, the lush gardens, the winding paths, everything was SO picturesque! If you’re dreaming of a garden wedding that feels both intimate and grand, this is definitely the spot!

What I Loved About Deepwood Museum and Gardens:

  • Natural Beauty Everywhere: The gardens were in full bloom, and honestly, it made my photographer heart so happy!
  • Historic Charm: The Victorian house added such a unique backdrop for photos. It’s like history and romance combined!
  • Versatile Spaces: Whether you’re into open lawns or tucked-away garden nooks, there’s a spot for every vibe.
  • Convenient Location: Being in Salem, it’s super accessible for guests coming from all over Oregon!

Angie and Blake’s Intimate Garden Wedding

Angie and Blake’s wedding was nothing short of magical! Seriously, these two know how to throw a garden party! The whole day felt so warm and personal, and I was so honored to be a part of it.

One of the highlights of the day was when a tiny kitten wandered into the ceremony spot!  Everyone was absolutely smitten (including me!), and we got the cutest photos. Talk about an unexpected guest! The florals were out of this world, from the ceremony arch to the table settings, it was a flower lover’s dream come true. Even though we were at a public garden, the wedding had the cozy and intimate feel of a backyard celebration with all your favorite people. It was all about close friends, family, and genuine connections.

AND I have to say, shooting film during their wedding was SO much fun! The rich tones and textures captured on film added that nostalgic touch that perfectly matched the vintage charm of the venue. I was geeking out over the film scans when I got them back!

2. Reuse Your Florals

Angie and Blake had this genius idea to reuse their ceremony florals for the reception!

  • Consistency: Keeps the floral theme cohesive throughout the day.

3. Embrace the Unexpected

Remember that kitten? Sometimes the unexpected moments make the best memories!

  • Go With the Flow: If something unexpected happens, just roll with it. It might end up being your favorite part of the day!
  • Capture It All: Make sure your photographer is ready to catch those spontaneous moments.

4. Personal Touches Make It Yours

Even in such a grand setting, personal details make your wedding uniquely you.
